2020 Campaign Brief

Agency overview

SMART RECOVERY /
SMART TRACK APP

Smart Recovery is a mutual support group for people experiencing problematic addictive behaviours. Originally providing face-to-face counselling, we were invited to create a website, but proposed an app to help addicts. In partnership with the University of Wollongong, the trial has been so successful it’s been written up as an academic paper and is now being rolled out nationally.

COMMBANK /
C’MON AUSSIE: REVISITED

The Australian Women’s Cricket Team dominates the game globally but still doesn’t have the profile of the men’s team. So in the lead-up to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020, we worked with CommBank, sponsor of the women’s team for over 20 years, on a major campaign to help raise their profile. The idea was to bring back an iconic track, ‘C’mon Aussie, C’mon’, and sing it for the female team for the first time.

VILLAGE CO & SWISS8 /
WORLD’S BIGGEST
MEAT TRAY RAFFLE

Our client The Village Co. is a technology provider in the food service industry. As the Coronavirus pandemic began and Anzac Day was approaching, they partnered with the mental health charity Swiss8 to raise money for veterans. The goal: earn a place in the Guinness World Records™ for the largest quantity of meat prizes ever recorded (it’s a thing…). And who better to tell the story of a meat tray raffle than Australia’s best-known meat-lover, Sam Kekovich. On a minuscule budget, the campaign earned national PR and on social media and raised $266,000 for Swiss8 – an ROI of 960%.

INFOMEDIA /
MICROCAT CAR PARTS PLATFORM

Infomedia is an ASX-listed global leader in car parts and service software, with 170,000 users in 186 countries. They engaged GHO to work with them to help redesign their core car parts platform line ‘Microcat’, which connects franchises, dealerships and body shops to access millions of parts. Taking a user-centred approach, we conducted over 60 interviews with users from Perth, Tennessee, Ontario and even the Netherlands, ultimately creating the UX/UI for this critical service in partnership with Infomedia.

GRUBLAB /
AR HEROES

Every parent knows the nightmare that is taking kids out to dinner. GrubLab is an innovative start-up aiming to revolutionise in-venue entertainment through engaging digital games and experiences. We’ve partnered with them to create AR Heroes, a collectible card game and augmented reality experience that takes place right on your table-top through your phone. The experience is officially launching soon – just as soon as it’s okay to dine in a restaurant again.

AVIATION AND AEROSPACE AUSTRALIA /
NO OTHER CAREER CAN TAKE YOU HIGHER

The aviation and aerospace industry offers compelling career opportunities for young women, but with little knowledge and few role models, applications are nowhere near what they could be. We partnered with Aviation and Aerospace Australia, the industry body representing members like Qantas, Lockheed and Boeing, on an integrated campaign, including video, print and website, to show the inspiring role models, and inspiring careers, available for girls.

OPSM /
DIGITAL EXPERIENCE

We worked with OPSM to design their digital experiences across website and app. Using quantitative behavioural analytics to discover and validate gaps in the current experience as well as regular stakeholder engagements with OPSM Australia and the global Luxottica team in Milan, Italy, this Agile workflow enabled us to iterate on the design and deliver world class digital eCommerce and eye health experiences.

AVIATION AND AEROSPACE AUSTRALIA /
FIND YOUR FLIGHT PATH

The aviation industry is a complex one, which can be hard to navigate for those aspiring to a career. In response, the A/AA created a series of Fundamentals Short Courses, allowing people to learn more without doing a four-year engineering degree. To highlight the possibilities, we launched an inspiring campaign, ‘Find Your Flight Path’.

ADOBE /
UPSKILL YOURSELF

In the wake of covid, the Government put out a call to industry to help Aussies upskill themselves in tech. Our client Adobe partnered with 14 other tech companies, including Google, Microsoft, Atlassian and Canva, to create Skill Finder, a home for 700+ courses available for free.

ADOBE SOLUTIONS FOR GOVERNMENT /
JUST IMAGINE

To most people in government, Adobe is ‘the PDF company’. But they offer a complete suite of digital solutions, with global case studies to prove their impact. To help engage both State and Local Government, we created an inspiring B2B campaign that invited decision-makers to image what’s possible. The engaging low-poly illustrations were created entirely in-house.
